Instructional Techniques

  • Reading StrategiesStudents will read, and have the option to listen, to the online presentations of curriculum.
    Students will complete the assigned worksheets with this curriculum (not provided as it belongs to a third party).

    Students will read several articles throughout this unit.
  • Multimedia/Visual Strategy (f.e. slides)Students will use a VENN diagram to compare and contrast Resident and Patient Bill of Rights.
  • Graphic organizers or handoutsPowerPoint presentations for each lesson (template provided by thrid party)
    Worksheets (provided by third party)
  • Writing StrategiesStudents will write answers posed questions in class about ethical dilemmas in healthcare.
    Students will also complete the Newspaper Article Worksheet along with exit tickets
  • Speaking and Listening StrategiesAt the conclusion of the Unit, students will present their articles to the class. After the presentations, there will be a question/answer period with the rest of the class.
  • Family: Any opportunities to involve parent/guardians and other family members in this project?Students will be able to share their knowledge with their families and discuss whether or not their family members recall receiving information on their rights and responsibilities as patients.
