- Direct InstructionThe timing of instruction varies by the size of the class and feedback.
EQ: What are the characteristics of an entrepreneur?
1st Class: The teacher will introduce and display Venture on the SmartBoard and then provide a brief overview of EverFi Venture‘s Lesson concepts and terms. The class will make lists of fixed and variable expenses for a pizza parlor.
2nd Class: The teacher will present slides 1-8 and discuss the factors determining success as an entrepreneur.
3rd Class: The teacher will present slides 9-12 and discuss the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs.
4th Class: The teacher will explain how to set up the room for the gallery walk and explain how it will work.
5th Class: The class will discuss the answers to Exit Tickets from class 4. The teacher will present slides 13-16 and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of entrepreneurship.
6th Class: The teacher will present slides 17-27 and discuss the importance of using the problem-solving method. -

- Guided Practice1st Class: The teacher will assist with registering students for Venture on everfi.net to begin the first lesson.
2nd Class: The class will complete a Think-Pair-Share during slide 4.
3rd Class: The students will complete the self-assessment on slide 10.
4th Class: The students will view the vision boards in the gallery walk. - Independent Practice/Differentiated Activities1st Class: The students will complete Lesson 1 of Venture (approximately 45 minutes).
2nd Class: The students will complete Lesson 2 of Venture (approximately 45 minutes).
3rd Class: The students will create the vision board on slide 12.
4th Class: After the gallery walk, each student will present and explain their vision boards to the class.
5th Class: The students will complete Lesson 3 of Venture (approximately 45 minutes).
6th Class: The students will complete Lesson 4 of Venture (approximately 45 minutes). -

- Lesson Closure1st Class: Today we learned all about budgeting, taxes, and expenses. You were able to apply what you learned in the simulation. Next class, we will learn all about entrepreneurship.
2nd Class: We learned all about what entrepreneurship is and brainstormed some ideas of what is needed to be successful. Next class, you will learn about the characteristics of entrepreneurs.
Exit Ticket - (Answer on Google Classroom) Are you interested in becoming an entrepreneur? Defend your answer.
3rd Class: You did a great job with the self-assessments. I can see your vision boards are coming to life! Completing the vision board is homework due at the start of the next class.
4th Class: I enjoyed hearing all about your vision boards and the goals you have set for yourselves. Hopefully, you learned something new about each other and can use that to support each other on your journeys.

6th Class: Wow! That was a lot of work over the past 6 classes! Now it‘s time to reflect on what we have learned about entrepreneurship. What have you learned about yourself? Do you think you have what it takes? - Summative/end of lesson assessmentStudents must write a 1-page reflection on their experience of operating a food truck in the EverFi simulation and what they have learned about themselves in the process. Students must include at least 5 of the 15 vocabulary words of this lesson in the reflection to show their understanding of the material.

- Family: Any opportunities to involve parent/guardians and other family members in this project?Students can watch an episode of Shark Tank with their family and discuss what they each think the entrepreneurs did well.
Students can show their vision boards to their families and explain the goals they have set for themselves. Families can help students put an action plan together to reach their goals.
