  • Brief Description and RationaleProvide students with an understanding of safety in the workplace as mandated by OSHA
The U.S. Congress created OSHA under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (the OSH Act) in order "to assure so far as possible every working man and woman in the nation safe and healthful working conditions and to preserve our human resources." The mission of OSHA is to save lives, prevent injuries and protect the health of America`s workers. Some of the things OSHA does to carry out its mission are developing job safety and health standards, keeping track of job-related injuries and illnesses, and providing training programs.

  • Virtual/Remote Teaching StrategyPresentations and all other documents will be shared with students via Microsoft OneNote platform. Direct instruction (including demonstrations and guest presentations) will occur via Microsoft Teams platform with shared screen and shared whiteboard (for notes). Group discussions will occur via Microsoft OneNote in the Collaboration Space of the class notebook (written format) and via Microsoft Teams (oral format).
Quizzes will be assigned via the Microsoft Forms platform.
Other platforms or combination of platforms (Google, Zoom, Kahoot, EdPuzzle) may also be utilized to achieve the same instructional effect.
